Exostosis and Osteomas
$50.00
Exostosis and osteomas are terms that are often used interchangeably. And although these two bony conditions share some similarities, they arise for different reasons. In fact, the causes of osteoma are not yet fully understood, whereas the causes of exostosis are widely understood and documented in medical literature.
More often than not, though, it is possible to distinguish between these bony neoplasms, based on clinical history and radiographic evidence, although the latter is often not necesssary.
So why do these bony growths occur in the ear? Are they dangerous? How are they treated and do they even need to be treated? In this module we will explore all these questions and more. We will examine real patient photographs and consider the differences in these bony abnormalities.
